Operation Garlic Bread.

I asked my Mum if we had any pizza in the freezer. Alas, with this household being on a diet, we didn't. It wasn't really the cheese I fancied anyway, just the tomato base, so I figured I'd try to make my own. It turned out wonderfully. It was so tasty and the base was wonderful.

(Sorry about the rubbish picture - I only took one on my mobile as an afterthought and now it's in my stomach.)

Ingredients for the base:
 2 cups of self-raising flour.
1/2 a cup of Parmesan.
1/2 a cup of vegetable oil.
3/4 of a cup of boiling water.

For the base, add the flour and Parmesan to a mixing bowl and use a fork to mix them together. Then add the oil, mix it in and then, finally, stir in the water.
Flour your surface, turn the mixture out of the bowl and kneed for a few minutes until the dough is complete and flexible.
Then put the dough on your baking tray and tease it out with your hands until it gets to the desired size. I'd recommend you make it fairly thin or it takes a lot longer to cook properly.

Ingredients for the topping:
1 cup of Passata.
A squirt of tomato puree.
A sprinkle of pizza herbs and garlic granules to taste.

Mix these together in a cup and pour onto the base. Spread out with a spoon and you're done! Ta-da!

Place the tray in the oven on around Gas Mark 7 for 25 minutes. Keep checking in the mean time and take out when it's cooked to your liking. I like mine crispy and this amount of time was perfect in my oven.

Enjoy. :)
